Wartime bonuses: the head of the regional council received hundreds of thousands in aid, having foreign currency savings

In the midst of the war, when the regional budget is operating in a constant deficit, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Anton Tabunshchyk, twice used financial assistance in 2025 for a total amount of more than 260 thousand hryvnias. At the same time, according to the declaration for 2024, his family keeps 49 thousand US dollars and 17 thousand euros in cash, and the official himself owns half of the estate with an area of ​​​​544 square meters in the village of Mishkovo-Pogorilovo near Mykolaiv. This is stated in the regional council’s response to a request from Nikcenter journalists.

According to official information, in 2025, as the head of the regional council, Anton Tabunshchyk earned about 1.8 million hryvnias. Of this amount, approximately 550 thousand hryvnias were bonuses. In addition, during the year he received 267 thousand hryvnias in material assistance: in July – 132 thousand hryvnias for recovery, and in December – another 135 thousand hryvnias for solving social and household issues.

The official was paid from 118 to 138 thousand hryvnias per month. The largest payments fell on July and December – 258 thousand hryvnias and 269 thousand hryvnias, respectively, which also included material assistance.

The salary of the head of the regional council consists of a salary, a seniority bonus, a bonus for the special nature of work and intensity of work, a bonus for rank and bonuses. Monthly bonuses ranged from 21 to 45 thousand hryvnias, and in total for the year – about 490 thousand hryvnias. The bonus for intensity of work ranged from 20 to 41 thousand hryvnias per month, and for seniority – an average of about 4 thousand hryvnias.

The declaration for 2024 states that the official keeps 49 thousand US dollars in cash, and his wife – 17 thousand euros. In addition, Anton Tabunshchyk jointly owns half of a residential building with an area of ​​​​544 square meters in the village of Mishkovo-Pogorilovo, as well as a land plot with an area of ​​​​887 square meters in the same settlement.

The head of the regional council drives a 2018 Jeep Cherokee, which was purchased in 2020 for 575 thousand hryvnias.

In total, for 2025, Anton Tabunshchyk received about 1.8 million hryvnias in income in his position.
